Use of OraQuick® HCV Rapid Antibody Test.

OraQuick HCV Rapid Antibody Test is a blood test given by healthcare professionals to find evidence of hepatitis C virus in people 15 years or older who have signs or symptoms of hepatitis C or who may have been exposed to hepatitis C. Performance characteristics have not been established for testing a pediatric population less than 15 years of age or for pregnant women.

Important Safety Information.
  • • The OraQuick HCV Rapid Antibody Test is sold only to healthcare professionals who are specially trained to give the test.
  • • This test should not be used to monitor people who are taking hepatitis C medicine(s).
  • • The OraQuick HCV Rapid Antibody Test is used to help in the diagnosis of hepatitis C infection. Results from the test should be discussed with your healthcare provider. Additional testing and medical assessments are needed to determine the progression of hepatitis C infection.
  • • You may experience pain or discomfort at the test site. Talk to your healthcare provider if the pain or discomfort does not go away.
